DANIELA GARAU

Co. Meath based artist, Daniela Garau is a member of Visual Artist Ireland. Her subjects range from Irish landscapes and wildlife to still life, pets, and portraits.

Daniela began producing paintings and drawings from a very early age, family members and school teachers always supported and encouraged her, with requests to keep some works for themselves with her permission.  Although University took her on a different path she always made time for painting, with commissioned fresco for local Italian retailers and portraits.

With her academic background in Environmental Engineering, which has profoundly shaped her artistic vision, Daniela's passion for the environment and wildlife blossomed during my university years, leading her to adopt sustainability as a guiding principle in her life and work.

This commitment is reflected in her art, where she focuses on natural subjects; from the serene beauty of calming landscapes to the intricate details of wildlife, still life, and portraits. Her work incorporates harmonious colours, fluid compositions, and tranquil themes to create a peaceful atmosphere conducive to reflection and relaxation.

In a world often overshadowed by messages of violence and despair, Daniela strives to celebrate the beauty and diversity of nature.  Her aim is to engage viewers on a deeper level, fostering mindfulness and encouraging a respite from the chaos of everyday life.

Recently, she has explored abstract painting, enriching her portfolio and sparking her creativity across various mediums, including oils, polycolour pencils, watercolours, graphite, and acrylics.

Daniela has successfully participated in various exhibitions, including December 2023 exhibition at 'Dunamaise Arts Centre' in Portlaoise, where her work 'Balance, Still Life of a Pineapple' was selected by Blaise Smith RHA. In 2024 her oil painting 'Enchanting Beauty' was selected for the 'Bord Bia Bloom' Art Exhibition at Phoenix Park in Dublin.

She has also showcased her work at 'The Red Stables', 'People's Art' exhibition and ART Source in Dublin.

Today, her work is appreciated by art enthusiasts and collectors from Europe to the USA and Australia.
