Art Inspired by the Nature of Ireland

Daniela Garau is a Meath based artist living in Dunshaughlin and a member of Visual Artists Ireland.

Daniela moved from Sardinia (Italy) to Ireland 18 years ago, and its wildlife quickly stole her heart. Foxes, hares, badgers, squirrels, just to name a few.

With her academic background in Environmental Engineering, which has profoundly shaped her artistic vision, Daniela's passion for the environment and wildlife blossomed during her university years, leading her to adopt sustainability as a guiding principle in her life and work.  This commitment is reflected in her art, where she focuses on natural subjects.

Influenced by the Italian Old Masters, Daniela's talent is remarkably unique as she stands out as one of Ireland's most versatile artists, creating exquisite work across a broad spectrum of subjects and mediums including wildlife, equine art, landscape and seascape, portrait, still life, and abstract paintings.

In a world often overshadowed by messages of conflict and despair, Daniela strives to celebrate the beauty and diversity of nature. Her aim is to engage viewers on a deeper level, fostering mindfulness and encouraging a respite from the chaos of everyday life.

Daniela's work has been featured in a number of successful exhibitions across Ireland. Her painting Balance, Still Life of a Pineapple was selected by Blaise Smith RHA for exhibition at the Dunamaise Arts Centre in Portlaoise. In 2024, her oil painting Enchanting Beauty was selected for the Bord Bia Bloom Art Exhibition at Phoenix Park, Dublin.

In 2025 her work was included in the 195th RHA Annual Exhibition in Dublin.

Following a strong year of group exhibitions, including Art Source, Daniela went on to reach several important milestones. She successfully exhibited for the first time at the 2025 Dublin Horse Show and presented her debut solo exhibition, Wildlife Under the Irish Sun, supported by the Arts Council and Creative Ireland, at Ratoath Community Centre. Later that year, she returned to Art Source 2025 for another successful showing.

These experiences reflect Daniela’s ongoing commitment to capturing the beauty of nature and sharing her work with a growing audience throughout Ireland
