My work at the 195th RHA Exhibition in Dublin

I am incredibly honoured to share that my work was included in this year’s Royal Hibernian Academy (RHA) Annual Exhibition. The RHA Exhibition, one of Ireland’s most prestigious showcases of contemporary art, is celebrated for highlighting the very best of creative talent in the country, and I was truly delighted that my work was part of it.

My piece, Naked Essence, depicts a mandarin I personally peeled, revealing its inspiring natural beauty. In creating this artwork, I wanted to capture the elegance found in everyday objects, those subtle wonders that often go unnoticed in the fast pace of modern life.

Through a considered play of light, colour, and contrast, my goal was to give the mandarin a hyper-realistic presence, allowing it to appear as though it might almost lift itself from the canvas.

In a world where distressing messages and images of violence can often dominate our attention, I believe it is more important than ever to pause and celebrate the beauty that surrounds us in the simplicity of day-to-day life.
